A Georgetown County man is arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

The accident happened late Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 15 and Harrelson Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.

Police say 36 year old Donald Dodge of Murrells Inlet collided with a mini van taxi cab and took off. The taxi cab driver chased down Dodge into Surfside Beach on 17 bypass near Lowes.

Once they both stopped, the taxi cab driver took Dodge's keys.

Dodge was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Dodge told police he left the scene because he didn't want to be late picking up his child.
